I decided for my next build to do something slightly different. Although I am primarily a Great Western man, I also very much like the LMS who were very prominent in and around the Bristol area. One of my relations was a driver based at Barrow Road Depot in Bristol during steam days, unfortunately I never got to know them as I was to young, but LMS engines always seemed to be special, especially those 'Red' engines.

The LMS Failrburn tank was introduced between 1945 and 1951, and my tank will be one of the early 1945 versions (No.2673 to 2699). The one thing I will point out is that I can not find any record of a fairburn tank operating on Great Western metals, especially around Bristol. However as I always build fictitious railway locations, I'm sure one wont look out of place on my layout.
